Alarm Clock

This Privacy Policy describes how the Alarm Clock application ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Local Data Storage

By default, all your data is stored locally on your device:

  • Alarms and their settings (time, ringtone, repeat schedule, label)
  • Timer and stopwatch data
  • App preferences and settings

Without explicitly enabling the synchronization feature, your data never leaves your device.

2. User Account

To use the synchronization feature, account creation is required. We collect the following information:

  • Email address — used for account identification, authentication, and password recovery
  • Password — stored in encrypted (hashed) form; we do not have access to your plain-text password

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third parties. Your email is used solely for the purposes of operating your account within the App.

3. Data Synchronization

When synchronization is enabled by the user, the following data is transmitted to our server:

  • Alarms and their configurations
  • Timer presets
  • App settings and preferences

Synchronized data is linked to your account (email) and protected by your password. Synchronization is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time. You can also delete your account and all associated server data at any time.

4. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • All data transmission between the App and our servers uses secure HTTPS protocol
  • Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing algorithms
  • Access to server infrastructure is restricted and monitored
  • We do not store more data than is necessary to provide the synchronization service

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Third-Party Services

The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share your personal data with any third parties.

6. App Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

  • Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) — required for alarms to trigger at the exact specified time
  • Notifications — to display alarm and timer notifications
  • Wake Lock — to ensure alarms can wake the device and keep the screen on when needed
  • Vibration — for alarm vibration alerts
  • Boot Completed — to restore scheduled alarms after device restart
  • Foreground Service — to reliably play alarm sounds and display alarm screens
  • Internet — for account synchronization (only when enabled by the user)
  • Display Over Other Apps — to show fullscreen alarm screens
  • Do Not Disturb Access — for alarms to work in Do Not Disturb mode (optional)

All permissions are used solely for the core functionality of the App. No permission is used to collect or transmit personal data beyond what is described in this policy.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Use the App without creating an account (alarms work fully offline)
  • Disable synchronization at any time
  • Request a copy of your data stored on our servers
  • Delete your account and all associated data from our servers
  • Uninstall the App, which removes all locally stored data

To exercise any of these rights, you can use the account management features within the App or contact us directly using the information below.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data and synchronized information for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Local data on your device is retained until you uninstall the App or clear its data.

10. International Data Transfers

Our servers may be located in different jurisdictions. By using the synchronization feature, you consent to the transfer of your data to servers that may be located outside your country of residence. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data regardless of where it is processed.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. For significant changes, we will notify users through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
